Es Bòrdes

In this village, presided over by a Romanesque church with bell tower from the 17th century, the Middle Aran begins. It is located at the point in which the Joeu river joins the Garaona River. The staring point of the river is called the Eyes of the Jew. It is an exceptional geological phenomenon with waters coming down from the Aneto glacier.  In addition, it is the staring point of one of the most beautiful excursions in the Valley, the Artiga de Lin, where a annual feast (romeria) is held the 3rd Sunday of July. The Royal Path (camin reiau), which was an imporant path for travel in the past, crosses through Es Bordes. Along the path you will find a wash fountain which is an authentic jewel demonstration of the Aranese civil architecture.
