Canejan

This village can be discovered up in the mountains from the N-230 highway passing through the Pontaut nucleus. The village is hanging on the mountain hills at the entrance of the beautiful Toran Valley. The wrought iron benches place the visitor in front of magnificent views over the Lower Aran and above the village of Bausen. Surrounding Canejan you will find the remains of the rinsing stations from the Liat Mines which were heavily used from the end of the 17th century to the beginning of the 20th centuries by the more than 1000 inhabitants of the village.
