Nordic skiing
Nordic skiing lovers whether it be with classic style or the more modern skating style have two excellent scenarios in Beret with a circular 7 km well marked route and another route about 40 kms long along Orri towards the beautiful hamlet of Montgarri. The circular route for Nordic skiing is located between Orri and the Beret parking lot just a few meters from the Source of the Garona river, which was for some time thought to be the headwaters of the river. The circuit is also just meters from the megalithic monument which reminds the visitor of the history of the inhabitants of this area. To practice Nordic skking along this marked circuit it is not necessary to purchase a pass. The visitor can enjoy this ski modality even after the station has closed as it is not necessary to use any chairlifts and it is located in the exterior. The importance of this ski modality int he Val d'Aran can be seen in the success of each edition of the popular Nordic ski race known as the Marcha de Beret. The race has a history of over 30 years with more than 1500 participants annualy who come from every corner of the world. Each February the resort becomes the center of world attention for snow sport events with this important competition open to anyone who wishes to participate. Information and reservations:
