The Conangles beech forest is one of the most important beech and fir forests in the Iberian Peninsula. This spectacular forest is located at the south mouth of the Vielha Tunnel, next to the Conangles Refuge, at the foot of the Noguera Ribagorzana River and within the Aigüestortes and Sant Maurici National Park, the only national park in Catalonia and the centre of a large Protected Natural Area. You will start your journey accompanied by a mountain guide through a small corner of the forest and majestic beech trees with ghostly shapes, waterfalls and lakes. The combination of beeches and fir trees in autumn provides an explosion of colours in reddish, garnet, ochre and gold tones, creating a unique light in the months of October and November. You will discover an old natural pass used since ancient times as a communication route between the regions of Arán and La Ribagorza, from where you can enjoy one of the best views of the Val d’Aran surrounded by mountains of more than 3000 meters, such as the Besiberri Norte, the Besiberri Sur, the Pic de Comaloformo, or the Punta Alta de Comalesbienes.

The advanced Ferrata tracks are for adventurers and experienced people. Longer routes, challenging and vertical steps, collapsed areas… Satisfaction for the most demanding! Roger, a local mountain guide, will accompany you on this incredible adventure. You will learn progression and uphill techniques while enjoying the beautiful route of the road. You will cover three sections, increasing the intensity and adrenaline as you overcome each one.

In the first, you’ll find steps within walking distance of each other. During the second, you will overcome some more continuous walls, taking advantage of the natural grips offered by the rock. You will cross Tibetan and Nepalese bridges, until you reach the icon of life: the spiral staircase. The last section is the most aerial and the longest, with 350 meters. Before returning to the starting point, you will taste a tasty snack of local products enjoying spectacular views of the landscape. Dare to overcome one of the sportiest Ferrata roads in the Val d’Aran!

Roger, an expert local climbing guide, will accompany you on your journey along the first and second section of the Ferrata de Unha route, of intermediate level and suitable for all audiences, both those who start in this exciting modality and those who already have experience. You will travel through air passes, approaches, a Tibetan and a Nepalese bridge, until you reach the peculiar spiral staircase, an icon of this road and without complications to cross it, where you will find the Vulture Viewpoint, which will dazzle you with the incredible views it offers of the valley.

Montgarri, Varradós or Artiga de Lin are unique ecosystems for observing the wild fauna and flora of the territory: beech, fir, oak forests and extensive green meadows bathed by the waters of its rivers and lakes.
