The exceptional offer of ski and après-ski in the Val d’ Aran has led to excellent results of tourist occupation during the Christmas holidays. The figures have reached 86% of hotel occupancy in the first week, from 25 December, and 72% in the second week of the holidays, coinciding with the New Year.
According to the consellera Anna Díaz,”with 150,000 skiers in Baqueira Beret, and bearing in mind that people usually stay close to the resort, the results show that hotel occupancy has benefited all establishments, from Naut Aran to Baish Aran, where the occupation has increased”. Diaz said that “companies and establishments related to the tourism sector, such as mountain guides, shops and restaurants, have also had a very good days of service”. Lots of Snow in Baqueira Beret
Despite changing weather conditions, all skiable kilometres and ski lifts have been available for most of the holidays in the Val d’ Aran ski resort. Baqueira Beret has remained open every holiday day with an average of 130 km skiable and practically all lifts in operation. This has allowed the close to 150,000 skiers who have visited the resort between 25 December and 7 January to spread smoothly over the ski area in the three zones: Baqueira, Beret and Bonaigua.
The free 7 km long cross-country ski circuit of Beret, the snowpark, which was reconstructed after the heavy snowfalls of 27 and 28 December and the Funpark, a children’s trail in the Clot Der Os de Beret area, were also open during the holidays.
