This sport which consists in going down the flow of the river (ravine or canyon of the river) combining swimming with spelunking techniques and climbing to surpass the natural obstacles along the route can also be practiced in the Val d'Aran. The Bausen canyon, a beautiful canyon with abundant vegetation, is a ideal for an introduction to the sport. The excursion begins entering the lush and magnificent forest. During the route we will find diverse water jumps, slides and rope rappels, etc... Given its length (approximately 1.5 hours in the ravine) and the level of difficulty it is considered the ideal canyon for an introduction to the world of canyoning and apt also for youth (12 years and older). On occasion the participant will have to jump into a water reservoir or pool, rappel, descend with ropes or swim in the deeper waters. These are the reasons why canyoning should always be done at the hands of specialized mountain guide.
