It is located at 1222 meters above sea level and only 3,5 km far from Vielha. Montcorbau has beautiful views of Sarraeta and Tuc Nere, whose snow covered tops contrast with the green landscape of the lush Baricauba forest at the end of the valley. Its parrochial church is dedicated to Saint Esteban and, despite its Romanesque origins, it has incorporated the artistic legacy of both the Gothic and Baroque styles over the centuries. However, the most outstanding feature for the visitor is the popular interior of the building, quite similar to the one at Sant Joan church in Boí.
