Description

Description

This is a technical and occasionally exposed descent, especially in its lower half, but fluid and fun if you have the level to tackle it.
The descent has two different entrances: from the Vielha viewpoint in Plan de Viàs (the track you can download here) or from the Vilac lake (you will need to continue up the Salient track, route 50, about 200 m of elevation gain). Both are signposted.
If we take the descent from the Vielha viewpoint, it starts with an easy descent of little inclination. If we take the upper entrance, it is an open grassy trail between shrubs and hazel trees that can be very fluid and after some zig-zags it joins the other trail coming from the viewpoint.

From here, the path has a steep slope and links tight curves, which should be avoided on wet days, when the slabs become dangerously slippery. In some sections the exposure to falling is important, take it easy!

Once in Escunhau, the return to Vielha is on tarmac, on the wide platform (without signs).

It is a relatively short route that you can complete in two to three hours. If you have more time, it is easy to combine it with another one in the Tuca area: 61A Camin de Hèr (blue), 61C Camin des Artigarits (blue), 64A Meddia (red) or 61B Escaleta (black) can be good options , as can also be the 40A Projekt (red) in Baricauba.

Description

The great challenge of rally and especially gravel bike of the Val d’Aran, a perfect loop of nearly 50 km through the valleys of the Garonne, Varradòs and Unhòla that will take you to know some of the most mythical places of the valley, such as the Saut deth Pish and the Còth de Varradòs. The route crosses many villages, where you can recover and enjoy the traditional mountain architecture: Gausach, Bagergue, Salardú…

The proposal we make here takes advantage of the new cycle path in the Garonne and avoids the stretches of trail, to make it more affordable and more suitable for gravel biking. You can complicate it a bit by looking for the singletracks of Vila, and also from Bagergue to Vielha. The route can also be started in any of the villages it crosses. Please note that from Bagergue to Vielha the route is not signposted, it runs along the wide side of the road.

The challenge of the longest climb in whole Val d’ Aran will take you to enjoy some of the best views you can imagine. Prepare your camera, once you have overcome the level gain, the upper part of the route glides between meadows where mares graze, full of wildflowers in the summer months, with the Maladeta glacier in the background.

The climb is long but the track is in good condition and has no difficulty. Choose a sunny summer day that allows you to enjoy the views of Aran and the Maladeta Glacier.

Description

Trail route that will take you to discover the wildest side of the forests of Baricauva, going up the paved track of Gausach to Bassa d’Oles and dropping you towards the valley of Artiga de Lin for a long and steep sender.

The ascents are comfortable and mostly paved, while the two descents are very different: the first is an unfrequented path that initially goes up and down and then takes a slope towards the river Joeu and crosses it. Once again, a paved track will take us to the Camí d’Aubèrt, a partially paved historic path that will take us to the Garona river.

This is an unmarked route. You have to download the track to follow it, although the climb to Bassa d’Oles coincides with route 40.

A long climb of about 14 km and 1000 m of elevation gain will take you to the Santet de Casau. From there the adventure begins. The first part of the descent is through alpine meadows where the path is not always well defined, it is necessary to be attentive to the GPS. It goes up a little to the Pleta des Anhèts, and from there it links easy and fun single trails to Bèussa, at the gates of Vielha. It is difficult to find a route that in so few kilometers gives you so much adventure!

In exchange, the route offers one of the best views, from Vielha to Baqueira, and a quiet and wild environment in which to enjoy nature and mountain biking.

More than 4 km of high quality trail in a fantastic setting, with a convenient access by paved track. You will want to go back!

Leaving the center of Vielha, this route will take us through the forests of Baricauba to Bassa d’Oles pond and further up to the huts of Soquèro and La Piusa, where the meadows make their way. This is a perfect circular route for both gravel and mountain biking, with the allure of fantastic views from La Piusa.

Much of the route runs on paved tracks in good condition, which makes it more accessible, although the difference in level is significant.

A quiet and comfortable track gives access to a fantastic single trail, the top of which is specifically recovered for mountain biking, while the arrival at the village is a partially stone paved historic path.

You will enjoy the speed among an incredible beech forest, with some technical sections of roots and rocks, fluid curves, sections of delirious speed … About 3 km and 600 m of drop divided in two sections which will finish too fast , but you can always go up again!
