Description
The route of Margalida and Victoria mines of Baish Aran has the attractions of learning about the mining history of this site of the Pyrenees. In this route we add a new descent along a trail specifically built for the practice of Trail/Enduro as an alternative to the traditional path of Melics, which is reserved for people on foot.
The ascent is done by following the MTB/Gravel route 20, which passes first by the Margalida mine and takes us to Bassa d’Arres, where we can rest, drink water from the source and enjoy the beautiful views of the Aneto. Next, you need to be attentive to the detour towards Mina Victòria, already following the signs for 20B route. Further down from the entrance to Mina Victòria – which can be visited – and past the building that housed the miners, take the signposted deviation of the new path to the right of a curve. The first part of the descent is a trail that combines comfortable sections of flow with more technical sections of tight curves, steep sections and rock and root drops. The second section of the descent that leads us to Bossòst is a little more rocky with a localized difficulty of a rocky drop with exposure that you will have to watch out for.
