“7 Artistas Internacionales en Aran”, exhibition in Arties

“7 Artistas Internacionales en Aran” brings together fifty paintings by seven renowned contemporary artists of African, French and Spanish origin, who met at the exhibition Rendez-vous d’ Artistes in Negresco (Nice, 2016). Organized by the Musèu d’ Aran (Conselh Generau d’ Aran) with the support of the Institut d’ Estudis Ilerdencs (Diputació de Lleida), the exhibition is exhibited in the exhibition hall of the Church of Sant Joan d’ Arties from 3 February to 3 March, Monday to Saturday from 5pm to 8pm.

With diverse influences and styles, these contemporary artists share the common denominator of figurative painting, made with great mastery of forms and familiar themes for all types of public. Seduced by the Aranese territory, many oft their works have been created for this exhibition.

The painters

Stefan Rossouw, born in Namibia, is a master of drawing and backlighting, clearly influenced by Caravaggio. Stéphane Salle, a doctor and emerging painter, knows the human anatomy perfectly and shows this in his works on classical themes. They also focus their attention on the human figure, Jean-Jacques Dumur, Miguel Francisco García-Díez and Christiane Loze, who go beyond the physical plane to delve deeper into the soul states and the unconscious. On the other hand, Anne-Marie Teisseire is interested in nature, with delicacy and great mastery of colours. Finally, Joan Vilarrubias is a hyperrealist painter capable of overcoming all the details that a photograph could show.
