This small village in the region of ‘Marcatosa’ has a few more than 15 inhabitants and it stands in an elevated area, where there are wonderful views over Vielha, especially if one goes up to the Plan de Mont. From this point one can witness the influence of the Margalida Mines. The Romanesque parrochial church of Mont dates from the 12th century and is dedicated to Saint Lorenzo, one of the first martyrs of the Catholic church. Many fountains in Huesca have their origin related to him and he was also used for the christianization of the Celtic God of light.
