At nightfall you will stroll through the beautiful town of Vielha, a territory with Gascon characteristics formerly populated by Celts and Basques, witness to important battles throughout history and which still retains Roman and Templar vestiges. Accompanied by a local cultural guide and historian. You will start from the former CIA barracks dedicated to Skiers-Escalers. You will learn about its history, that of the illustrious people and visiting foreigners, and that of its most notable monuments, recovering the memory of ancient traditions, festivals and legends now forgotten through its streets and historic center, which you will travel in a circular route until the point of origin, the statue tribute to the mountain company.

Description

One of the great mountain bike rides in the Aran, both for the “muscular” bike and with the help of the e-bike. It can be done in both directions, but leaving Salardú it is most logical to go up Aiguamòg towards the Banhs de Tredòs, where we can recover energy in the restaurant, to continue up towards the lakes of Colomèrs and reach the Coret de Prüedo. On the way down to Valarties there is the option of following flat track to visit the Montcasau lakes, before continuing down to Arties.

This is a long, steep loop, following forest tracks that in some sections require a certain amount of mountain biking skills. Strength and skills must be evaluated before commiting on it. If you are prepared, you will not be disappointed, the views, the atmosphere and the whole experience are unforgettable.

Description

Great trail-enduro loop, one of the most spectacular ones that Val d’Aran has to offer. It has everything to be considered a real challenge: distance, altitude gain, technical difficulty, height … An adventure that will take you through the alpine pastures of the Luishonés up to over 2000 m in the Poilanèr plains. From there, almost 1200 m of descent in 8 km of varied path: first, alpine traverses where you would say you cannot ride a bike and then endless turns through the forest until you reach Es Bòrdes again, with a sore body and a smile on the face. The trail has steep sections and fairly exposed parts, which make this route technically very demanding.

If the distance or the difference in level exceeds your posibilities, you can “cheat” going up by car or hiring a transfer to Portilhon or Còth de Baretja, thus saving you a lot of work. This is a GPS route, unmarked on the ground. Download the track and enjoy this adventure!

At the top of Artiga, you can recover strength in the hut, as well as in the grill halfway, where you can also recharge your electric bikes.
