Torisme Val d’Aran and the Consèlh Generau d’Aran have started a campaign to promote the different attractions of the Val d’Aran as a winter destination where you can carry out a wide variety of activities to enjoy nature in winter.

Skiing is and will be the main attraction of the Val d’Aran during the winter, but we need to make visitors aware of other snow activities and various attractions that our territory offers during these months,” says the Deputy Mayor of Aran and Regional Minister of Economy, Tourism and Economic Promotion, Juan Antonio Serrano, “in addition, the Val d’Aran also offers the possibility, when the weather conditions allow it, of practising other activities such as cycling, which is currently one of the most popular activities in the area, climbing or hiking, among others“.

With the forthcoming and expected arrival of the snow, Serrano emphasizes that “we have a wide range of itineraries suitable for all levels to enjoy our impressive landscapes with snowshoes or mountain skis; we also offer activities such as heli-skiing or walks with snowmobiles or with sleds pulled by dogs, without forgetting our wonderful villages and their natural and cultural heritage, the wide gastronomic offer of our restaurants or the local commerce and crafts“, adding that “all this makes the Val d’Aran a perfect snow destination to enjoy nature, the outdoors and snow in different ways“.

Growth of local tourism

We have made an investment of 70,000 euros to promote the Val d’Aran in the main digital and radio media in Catalonia during the months of December to April,” explained the Minister of Economy, Tourism and Economic Promotion, Josep Canut, adding that: “this summer’s data have shown a significant growth in visitors from the rest of Catalonia and, due to the current situation and possible scenarios for the near future, we believe it is essential to try to encourage local tourism during this season”.
