The seventh edition of the Pyrenades festival, which takes place from 8 to 15 April, will offer a complete and entertaining program of free activities for all audiences. During these days on Pyrenees, will be proposed conferences and dialogues, hiking, mountain cinema, music and children’s activities.

Pyrenades 2017The days have their base camp in the Pyrenmuseu of Salardú. It will emphasize the integration between the mountain sport with the debate and the knowledge of this environment. Its essence lies in the demographic movement that began with the exploration of the Pyrenees in the nineteenth century from an adventurous, naturalistic and humanistic perspective that encouraged the birth of the tourism in the place.
The Festival coincides this year with the ISMF World Cup, which will take place in Val d’Aran on 8 and 9 April.
A quality festival
In addition, during the week will be happening other activities, among which stand out talks about the sport of mountain and the competition; Walks through paradisiacal places of the Valley like the lakes of Baciver, the bank of the Unhola or the balcony of the Aneto, in addition to a walking tour by Vielha; The VII Film Festival of mountain, with various projections; And games, Romanic Musicau concerts, workshops for children and mountain initiation courses.
You can also visit the exhibition “Impressions dera Val d’Aran”, open since 8 April. The mayor of Naut Aran, Cesar Ruiz Canela and Manel Rocher, director of Pyrenades, will open the festival on Saturday 8 at 18:30. The closing party, which will take place on Saturday 15th in Pyrenmuseu, will feature the musical performance of Ian Sala.
Pyrenades returns to its essence
This year the Pyrenades Festival returns to its essence: the Pyrenees as a cultural and sports movement linked to the Pyrenean society. The conference of Arcadi Castilló, geographer and technician of the Institut per al Desarolupament i Promoció de l’Alt Pirineu i Aran (IDAPA), stands out in this regard. The specialist will conduct a dialogue between lovers of the mountain to review the Pyrenees for the future, enriched with a debate on social networks.
Entertainment for Easter
Since its first edition in 2011, Pyrenades has become an excellent option to enjoy Easter in the Val d’Aran, in contact with nature and enjoying a wide program of free activities. The will of Pyrenades is to energize the municipality of Naut Aran offering activities for the whole family.
Initiative of the Pyrenmuseu of Salardú, the festival is organized jointly with the municipality of Naut Aran and with the support of Torisme Val d’Aran, l’Idapa and the Conselh Generau d’Aran, as well as the collaboration of other entities of the Valley.
