First edition of Telemark & ​​Friends in the Val d'Aran

The ski resort of the Val d’Aran, Baqueira Beret, will host from the 1st to the 5th of April the first edition of Telemark & ​​Friends. In addition to various activities related to telemark and mountain skiing, the event includes talks, meals, music and lots of fun!

Telemark & FriendsTelemark & ​​Friends is designed to enjoy the mountain and the sport with friends. The event is aimed at mountain skiing enthusiasts and the Telemark willing to live an unforgettable experience in a privileged environment, on the heart of the Pyrenees. The extraordinary snow conditions offered by the Val d’Aran and one of the best ski resorts, Baqueira Beret, are the best guarantee for the success of this meeting.

SPORT AND FUN IN Telemark & Friends

fter a Saturday of Welcome Day with a welcome party, the sport activity will be developed on Sunday and consecutive days. The program includes cross-country skiing, snow pilates, classes, exits and telemark races.
Those enrolled in the event will also participate in guided tours of the station, informative talks, exhibitions with the latest in material. You can also enjoy parties, drinks, meals and pintxo pote.

The itinerant exhibition of LimnoPirineus reaches the Val d'Aran

From 1 March to 17 April the Palau de Geu of Vielha in the Val d’Aran hosts the traveling exhibition “Natura e Conservacion de zònes umides dels Pirineus”.

LimnopirineusIt consists of various panels that describe the different actions that are carried out through the LimnoPirineus project in the park Aigüestores and estany de Sant Maurici, the Alt Pirineu natural park and the lac of Vilac in the Val d’Aran .
These actions include restoration of ponds, repopulation of the red frog, improvement of the populations of cavilat, improvement of the river flow, restoration and improvement of the quality of the molleras, improvement of the sources and elaboration of plans of conservation of the species.
The objective of LimnoPirineus is to ensure the conservation of aquatic species and aquatic habitats of high mountains of European interest in the Pyrenees. The project is co-financed by the European LIFE + program which promotes actions for the conservation and recovery of habitats and species of flora and fauna in the protected areas of the European Union, integrated in the Natura 2000 Network.

Black Mountain Bossòst in the Val d'Aran

The town of Bossòst will host the first black genre festival of the Val d’Aran from 29 April to 1 May.

Black mountain BossòstThe Black Mountain Bossòst, which also collaborates with the council of Les, will host meetings, talks and literary presentations, as well as the screening of outstanding films of the black genre. It will also include other activities such as a jazz concert and a mountain trip in which writers and invited artists will take part.
The writer José Luis Muñoz, Bossòst resident and author of black novels, is the impeller and the commissary of the Black Moutain Bossòst. For the moment, writers of the black genre such as Andreu Martín and Alicia Jiménez Barlet , among others, have confirmed their attendance. The presence of renowned literary and cinematographic critics is also expected.
In addition to promoting reading and the black genre in particular, the Black Moutain Bossòst has been conceived as a tourist attraction. In this sense, the presence of these personalities of the culture will be used to make known the Aranais territory.

Next Saturday the Barcelona’s bookstore Alibrí will host the presentation of the Black Mountain Bossòst. The event, which will take place at 7:00 pm, will be attended by Amador Marqués, mayor of Bossòst and José Luis Muñoz, as well as some writers invited to the festival.

Caviar month in the Val d’Aran

From 3 to 23 March, dishes prepared with Caviar Nacarii from the Val d’Aran can be tasted in different restaurants

During Caviar Month, this gastronomic gem of the Pyrenees will join the tables of eleven renowned Aranese restaurants. Era Mòla, Eth Triton, Roc’n’Cris, Er Occitan, Era Coquèla, Eth Bistro, Gin Loe, AC Hotels, Es Arraïtzes, La Fonda and Pirineu Gourmet will spread the protagonism over three weeks.

Caviar and sturgeon cooked in all their forms will be present in their menus. From appetizing entrees to more forceful dishes lSweet desserts that incorporate this prized product will not be lacking either.

Culinary experiences can be accompanied by other activities. Among them it is proposed a visit to the factory of Les to know the history and process of elaboration, to taste caviar in the shop of the center of Vielha or to submerge in the waters of the thermal baths Barony of Les and to know the treatments elaborated with caviar of the Val D’Aran.

The month of caviar is organized by the Conselh Generau d’Aran, with the collaboration of Caviar Nacarii and the Grèmi d’Ostalaria dera Val d’Aran.

Lums e +, art exhibition with lighting in Arties

Lums e +, de Madera, Papel o Tijera, opens today in the exhibition hall of the church of Sant Joan d’Arties, where it will remain until April 1

ill inaugurate at 19h this afternoon the exhibition Lums e +, from the creators of Madera, Papel o Tijera, Amaya Echazarra and Inma Llauradó.The exhibition, which gathers its creations made with lighting, can be visited from Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Amaya Echazarra e Inma Llauradó are two local artists residing in Arties. They realize works of art with lighting and lamps for all types of spaces through their project Madera, Papel o Tijera. “Lums e +, are lamps made by us in an artisan way with recycled paper and wood collected here in the valley. We always illuminate with natural ecological light or LED“, says Amaya Echazarra.

The exhibition is divided into two spaces. “On one side we have placed special pieces,” describes the artist, “and on the other, objects and lamps for decorative use in houses. Snow activities. February 2017

Various snow activities and sports competitions will take place this February in Baqueira Beret, the ski resort of the Val d’Aran. Among them, the Marxa Beret, the first weekend of the month, stands out. This event has already become the most popular fest for fans of cross-country skiing.

Marxa Beret (4 febrer)

Organized by the Conselh Generau d’Aran, Baqueira Beret and the village of Naut Aran, the Marxa Beret takes place in the Pla de Beret, in the distances of 10, 21 and 42 km. The race follows the calendar of the Popular cross-country skiing circuit (category ML) of FIS. Also, for the fisrt time has entered to form part of the Spanish Cup of the calendar of the Real Federación española de Deportes de Invierno (RFEDI).

AMICS DE MONTGARRI  TROPHY (11 FEBRUARY)

Organized by the Club Aranès d’Esports d’Iuern (CAEI), this competition is aimed at categories U12 and U10 (Fry). The trophy this year celebrates its 20th edition and, since the 2009/10 season has hosted an Audi quattro Cup test each year.

Marxa Beret 2017, esquí de fondo popular y competitivo en la Val d’Aran

El fin de semana del 4 y 5 de febrero la estación de esquí de la Val d’Aran, Baqueira Beret, acogerá la 38ª edición de la Marxa Beret. La popular carrera de esquí de fondo es la más multitudinaria de nuestro país.

Marxa BeretLa Marxa Beret reúne ya a más de 1.000 participantes en cada edición. Esta prueba forma parte del Circuito de Carreras Populares  de la Federación Internacional de Esquí (FIS) y de la Copa de España Real Federación Española Deportes de Invierno (RFEDI).

 Organizada por el Conselh Generau d’Aran, Baqueira Beret y el ayuntamiento de Naut Aran, la Marxa Beret se disputa en el Pla de Beret, en las distancias de 10, 21 y 42 kilómetros. La prueba sigue en el calendario del Circuito de Carreras Populares de esquí de fondo (categoría ML) de la FIS. Además, por primera vez ha entrado a formar parte de la Copa España del calendario de la Real Federación Española Deportes de Invierno (RFEDI).

Cuenta además con la colaboración de la Associacion Volentaris Val d’Aran, Foment Torisme Val d’Aran, Diputació de Lleida, Ayuntamiento de Vielha e Mijaran, Pompièrs d’Aran, Aran Salut, Mossos d’Esquadra, INS d’Aran, además de la RFEDI, la Federació Catalana d’Esports d’Hivern (FCEH) y los distintos patrocinadores.

Este año, las inscripciones de la Marxa Beret únicamente pueden formalizarse a través de la web o durante los días de la prueba en la Casa de Acogida. Los que se inscriban antes del 31 de enero participarán en el sorteo de dos esquíes Salomon.

Internacional y familiar

La pasada edición de la Marxa Beret congregó alrededor de 1200 fondistas, casi la mitad de los cuales procedentes de países nórdicos, Alemania, Austria, Holanda o Italia. Este impulso internacional permitió consolidar el evento entre deportistas de alto nivel pero también entre familias que ya esperan esta fiesta del esquí de fondo.

Snow events for everybody in Baqueira

Baqueira Beret, the Val d’Aran ski station, has scheduled to hold several snow events this month. From amateur and professional competitions to playful acts they will liven up the slopes during the weekends of January.

World Snow Day (14 enero)

Event sponsored by the International Ski Federation (FIS) since 2007. Its aim is to spread winter sports around the planet and bring snow to the children and their families.

Baqueira Beret joins this initiative with various promotions and discounts for skiers. In addition on Saturday 14 different activities will be carried out to celebrate this day dedicated to the snow: torch relay, race, snowman contest, etc.

II Trofeo AC Hotels CAEI Másters (14 y 15 de enero)

The first race of this Spanish Masters for skiers up to 30 years, will be played over the weekend at the Beret Stadium.

This competition, organized by RFEDI, CAEI and AC-Hotels, is intended for both federally licensed and Open category runners.

BBB Ski Race Experience (21 enero)

Combined open border race in Beret, giant in Baqueira and freeride in Bonaigua for participants of all ages from 6 years. This fun activity allows you to tour the whole station throughout the day. It also has a lively village with raffle, prizes and party.

La primera parada del legendario El Dorado Freeride tendrá lugar en Baqueira Beret. Este evento del circuito mundial FREERIDE WORLD TOUR (FWT) tiene como objetivo la formación de los jóvenes para la práctica del freeride, tanto en la modalidad de esquí como del snowboard.

The first snowfall of 2017 leaves postcard landscapes in the Val d'Aran

Winter has finally settled in the Val d’Aran. After a few days of low temperatures, the first strong snow has finally fallen this year. The white already dyes the roofs and streets of the Aranese towns and leaves beautiful landscapes of postcard along the whole valley.

During the day it is foreseen that the snow level was between 800 and 900 m., with accumulations of more than 50 cm in 2,500 Baqueira and more than 30 cm in Bagergue 1,419 m.

The snow release of the station early in the morning announced up to 15 cm and mid-morning in Bagergue reached 17 cm. The forecast for Meteo Aran is that the snow will weaken during the morning of Wednesday.

Today’s snowfall is excellent news for Baqueira Beret, who has planned several sporting events for next weekend. This snow is an award for the effort of the ski preparation and snow production teams of the Aranese station, which have made possible to open more than 90 km of ski slopes during Christmas. About 125,000 skiers have enjoyed their holidays in Baqueira Beret between December 26 and January 8.
