Description

Crossing the whole north of the Aran valley doing the highest quality enduro riding, on a route with more than 50% of trails and more than 1700 m of drop is what this route offers you.

You will visit the Varradòs pass, the mines and the Liat lakes, the most impressive alpine meadows you can imagine, all to reach the Bedreda singletrack: 7.5 km and a drop of 1300 m in a uninterrupted mountain trail.

This is a linear route. You need to resolve your return to the starting point. You can do this by bus (check timetables), with a bike transfer company or by leaving a car at the Honeria refuge. You can easily extend the route to Canejan, either by road or by adding some more trails, and thus also make the return a little easier.

Description

A proposal for cyclo-mountaineering in the northern valleys of Aran, with a very high percentage of singletrails. Mountain lakes, alpine meadows, old cattle huts… in a high mountain environment between the Unhòla valleys and the headwaters of Noguera Pallaresa.

The route is unmarked, you need to download and follow the GPS track. It should be borne in mind that although it is not long, the altitude gain is significant and the climb up from Plan de Tor to Còth de Montoliu is very hard when not done by ebike.

Fantastic route, not only for the quality of the descents, which are very good, but also in terms of landscape and discovery.

From Salardú the route enters the Aiguamòg valley towards the Colomèrs lakes, passing through Banhs de Tredòs. Here we have already made a half climb and we can recover energy to continue the ascent towards the alpine meadows of Coret de Prüedo. To get to the beginning of the descent, the route follows the old maintenance trail of a hydroelectric canal to the Arties chamber. This part, despite being flat, is very spectacular for the views and the aerial sensation of the route. The descent begins in the chamber: 800 m drop in 4 km of fantàstic singletrail, with the apotheosis end of the roller coaster of Salardú. Watch out for pedestrians!

The Meddia trail is one of the classics of the Tuca sector, especially recovered for the practice of trail-enduro. It is a path with steep steps and roots, but also with fast and fluid sections, everything in a shady fir environment, full of mosses and ferns. The ascent along Bargadèra track is comfortable and never too hard.

If you have a good technical level, you can’t miss this descent and you can combine it with some of those in the Baricauba sector when coming back to Vielha, or follow up the valley towards Enduromies.

Description

The long track of Bargadèra will take you to discover this glacial valley above the village of Escunhau. Green forests, alpine meadows and the gift of a visit to a high mountain lake are the main attractions of this linear route.

The first part, up to km 9, runs through a shady forest of firs and mosses. The final part, already in the suspended glacial valley of Bargadèra, will allow you to enjoy open views between alpine meadows, until we reach the Pleta dera Lana. From here, an easy hike, or ride for the stronger bikers, will take us to Estanhó d’Escunhau and its icy waters. Many chamois and marmots inhabit this magnificent corner of the Pyrenees, so stay alert to see them!
